Beautiful Short Links

How Short Links Work

Beautiful Short Links are JoyLink's clean, branded URL format. They replace long Amazon URLs with something your audience actually wants to click — and remember.

joylink.io/ yourprefix / smart-slug

  • Link Prefix — a word you choose that brands every link (e.g., dealsbyjohn).
  • Smart Slug — a readable product suffix auto-generated from the product name (e.g., pink-airpods-max).

Full example: joylink.io/dealsbyjohn/pink-airpods-max

  1. Open your JoyLink dashboard.
  2. Go to Settings → Link Prefix.
  3. Type the word you want (letters, numbers, and dashes — no spaces).
  4. Click Save.

Every new JoyLink you create will now use this prefix by default.

Tip: Pick something short and on-brand — it's part of your identity on every post.

Turn Smart Slugs on or off

Smart Slugs are the auto-generated, human-readable part after your prefix.

  1. Go to Settings → Link Options.
  2. Toggle Smart Slugs on (recommended) or off.
  3. With Smart Slugs off, JoyLink generates a random short code instead (e.g., joylink.io/dealsbyjohn/a7f9).

Edit a slug manually

Want the slug to read a specific way? You can override it:

  1. Create the JoyLink as usual.
  2. On the link detail page, click the slug to edit it.
  3. Save — the URL updates instantly.

Slugs must be unique within your prefix.

Plan availability

Short Links are included on every plan. Enterprise customers can also bring a Custom Domain so links use their own URL (e.g., links.yourbrand.com/...).
